Our incoming Reception class pupils were welcomed to the school with a special Teddy Bears' Picnic this week.

As part of the event the children, who will be starting with Park Road Community Primary School in September, were given the chance to mingle with their new classmates as well as the current Reception class. Year 5 children also gave a helping hand welcoming our new members of the school community.

The event was held as part of our school’s aim to create a warm and inclusive environment and was a great opportunity for the young learners to get to know the school and begin forming friendships.

The children and their teddy bears gathered on the school grounds under the supervision and guidance of the Year 5 students their new teachers and parents.

This event not only encouraged friendships among the students but also provided an opportunity for the new Reception pupils to familiarize themselves with the school's layout and facilities.

The Teddy Bears’ picnic helped to build a positive introduction to their new environment and hopefully helps to alleviate any anxieties they might have about starting school.

All the teachers are looking forward to seeing our new young learners in September and hope the Teddy Bears' Picnic was a great positive start to their journey with us.
