Year 6 pupils enjoyed an action-packed trip to PGL Winmarleigh Hall for their final Primary residential.

The visit offered children from Park Road Community Primary School a range of outdoor activities. Pupils took part in orienteering, raft building, a campfire evening, vertical challenge, giant swing, traverse climbing, sensory trails, team building, archery, and an obstacle course.

Favourites among the group included the thrilling giant swing, which lifted children high into the air before releasing them to swing freely, as well as raft building, where pupils worked in teams to construct and launch their own rafts on the lake. Another highlight was the vertical challenge, where children climbed a series of obstacles up to a high platform, showing determination and courage.

The campfire evening provided a chance to relax, share stories and songs, and reflect on the achievements of the day.

Staff praised pupils for their positive attitudes and the resilience shown in tackling new challenges. Many children overcame nerves to try activities they had never experienced before.

Class Teacher Mrs Anderson Mills said: “The children enjoyed their adventure and lots of resilience was shown especially for the new challenges. The children were a credit to Park Road and a great time was had by all.”

Winmarleigh Hall is a popular PGL centre offering residential outdoor learning experiences for schools across the North West.

What a great experience Year 6!
